About this class

This class is for both sides of the dynamic. No matter who you are, taking time to connect with the self is essential to both the growth and development of the individual and the dynamic. When both people lose their ego and can just be in their raw state they are able to connect on a human level that few ever get to experience.

In our class the Tops ( those that will be tying ) will be trying to attain Mushin or having a mind that is not fixed or occupied by thoughts or emotions and is thus open to everything. The tops will also try to work within the context of Wu wei or tying and guiding their bottom with out force. This portion will help the top to not only guide the persons body into safe consensual positions it will also help the dominant to ease the sub's mind into a place where sub space is attainable.

The bottoms ( those that will be tied ) will work with zazen. The aim of zazen is just sitting, that is, suspending all judgmental thinking and letting words, ideas, images and thoughts pass by without getting involved in them. The bottom will also be asked to focus on breathing and finding comfort in being still and being present. This state once attained is something that can be as essential to a sub as subspace itself.

What is Meditative Bondage about?

Why is meditation ( sitting ) important?

Because sitting still is not for you it is for the self. Not the body. Not the mind. Not the ego. Sitting still allows us to connect with the self and that scares many of us because the self doesn't have wants that can be easily satisfied. The self doesn't get hungry or horny. The self doesn't get thirsty nor can it be made to feel pretty. The self needs to be loved and nurtured. The self needs to have companionship and tenderness. When we sit still, we have nothing distracting us from this fact. And when we are bound we give not only another person permission to take care of our bodies, we give ourselves permission to take care of ourselves.
